The House of Night series is an international phenomenon. Now, in the final instalment of the series, Zoey and her friends face the ultimate battle with evil which will determine the fate of the world, both human and vampyre.’ (Goodreads) (310 pages, 14th October 2014, Atom Books)

This was a quite disappointing end of this series. I was hoping for an exploding end and a lot of action, because I felt that the last 5-6 books were a building for a great climax… But the only action we got between Neferet and the gang were a mere 2-3 chapters… at the end of the book. 80% of the book were again a build-up to a teeny-tiny action-bit at the end.

I’m glad I kept up until the end of the series, because I really wanted to know how it ended. And the ultimate end of the entire series is quite okay. I’m glad the way Zoey and the rest are progressing too, and the way it ultimately ended. But I do feel that the series could have been put in a fewer number of books… The last books were barely 300 pages if it wasn’t less.

3 out of 5 stars, still a satisfying end to the series and glad it is finally over.
